But sometimes we also just like to have fun and enjoy some other types of “lights.” One example will occur all around the nation this weekend: Fireworks! We love fireworks and hope that you all get the chance to get outside with your friends and family and help join in the celebration of the Independence of the United States.
All we ask is that you play it safe when you go out to the fireworks displays or set off your own. Hospital emergency rooms are usually the most busy on the 4th of July because of accidents related to fireworks. Therefore please remember:
-Don’t allow children to be unsupervised
-Keep a source of water readily available
-Don’t light fireworks near flammable objects
-Don’t light fireworks near homes or swimming pools
-Don’t park too close to an area where fireworks are being set off
-Have a flat and wide surface to use as launching point for your fireworks
We hope you are all safe and enjoy your holiday weekend!
