Countdown to Christmas – October update

Home/Blog, News/Countdown to Christmas – October update

There are less than a dozen shopping Saturdays until Christmas, and we continue to develop ideas for your list! Danica, a Lighting Concepts’ lighting specialist, and resident design maven, loves crystal….including crystal light fixtures. She calls it jewelry for the hcrystal 2ome, and she’s right! A well placed crystal fixture can work in almost any room – consider it for the dining room in the shape of a wall sconce to add interest to the walls. Take your bath from utilitarian to something specialcrystal with a crystal cut fixture over the mirror. crystal wall sconce A plain hall can literally sparkle with a crystal ceiling fixture. Feminize one corner of your bedroom with a soft chair and a crystal reading lamp. Looking for crystal inspiration? Check out our website and browse crystal any time of day or night.

Design Maine

You can always find us in the showroom for advice on gift ideas, and on Saturday, October 18, we will also be at the Designing Maine Show at the Biddeford Middle School Performing Arts Center from 10 am – 4 pm. We will be presenting a workshop on Lutron controls and window shading, and Vern Yip of HGTV will be on hand to present his latest and greatest design tips. Get all the details here!

IMG_0095 Working in a lighting store, we all love the lights….but I have to admit, it’s the home accessories that get my attention. Just look at this little display and imagine how you can mix and match these types of pieces to create a special vignette in your home. Accent furniture pieces like this chair, wall mirrors, side tables, and even art glass – all on display and ready for you to gift (maybe yourself!) this holiday season. Did I already mention how Danica is our in-house design maven? She’s the real thing – she even has a degree from Cornell to prove it! Her second suggestion for holiday shoppers is to think color. “Did you know you can search our web site by color? I searched purple because it’s my favorite color, but really you could search red to match the rooster design in your kitchen, or blues for beach themed bathrooms.” Try it here!
